DELEGATE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Introduction

The Mass Timber Academy (hereafter referred to as ‘the event’) is organised by Timber Design Initiatives Ltd (hereafter referred to variously as ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’) a company registered in Scotland no. SC518940.

 

All applications to attend the event are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Bookings

All packages and prices are set out on our website (www.masstimberacademy.com) and available from us on request.

 

All bookings are subject to availability and full payment on acceptance of a booking form.

 

Booking confirmations will be sent within 5 working days of the booking request.

 

Registration details must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

 

Delegate passes are valid for named attendees only. 

 

Any special access requirements must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

 

Any special dietary requirements must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the event. For bookings made less than 2 weeks prior to the event, we shall endeavour to accommodate special dietary requirements, but cannot guarantee to do so, since the catering for the event is provided by an external company.

Payment

Payment in full must be made within 30 days of the booking. 

 

All bookings are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) at the then current standard rate (currently 20%).

 

If the booking is made less than 30 days prior to the event, full payment must be made by credit or debit card prior to attending the event.

 

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without warning at any time prior to the event if full payment has not been made by the relevant due date.

 

No refunds shall be given in respect of non-attendance.

Delegate substitutions and cancellations

Any delegate substitutions must be received in writing at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

 

Should delegate substitutions not be possible, cancellation charges are as follows:

 

  • Less than 30 days prior to start of event: 100% of booking fee

 

All cancellations must be received in writing.

Event cancellation/postponement

It may be necessary for reasons outwith our control to postponement and/or cancel the event. 

​

In the event of postponement of the event, attendees will be able to use their ticket for the new date or transfer them to a colleague.

 

In the event of cancellation of the event, all booking fees paid shall be refunded, and this shall be the full extent of our liability to the attendee arising out of such cancellation. We shall not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by attendees in the event of any cancellation, postponement or amendment of the event.

 

In the event of cancellation/postponement of the event, we will use reasonable endeavours to alert all attendees, and details will be published on the event website: 

www.masstimberacademy.com.

 

Attendees are responsible for checking this information prior to the event.

 

Programme amendments

It may be necessary for reasons outwith our control to amend the advertised timings, content and speakers of the event. We reserve the right to amend the programme at any time without prior notice to attendees.

VISA requirements

It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to arrange any VISA requirements.

Travel/health insurance

It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to arrange any travel and/or health insurance requirements.

Speakers

Views expressed by speakers are their own. We cannot be held responsible for any views expressed, information and/or advice given, or material published in conference proceedings or other event publications.

Photography and filming

A professional photographer and/or filmmaker will be in attendance at the event, capturing footage for promotional and archive purposes. Attendees who do not wish to be filmed should notify us in writing at least 3 days prior to the event and make themselves known to the photographer and/or filmmaker at the event.

Data protection

The information provided during the registration process shall be held by us in our databases and used for administration, marketing and promotional purposes. We will never share your data with external companies. Our privacy policy is available online:
