A specialism provides you with a professional advantage. The Mass Timber Academy helps you gain one, while fitting around your studies.
This tier is for you if you are currently a student at University (with a valid student card for a construction-based course). For architecture students, this takes you up to your Part 2 graduation.

Early career professionals
​
The Mass Timber Academy can not only help you to fulfil a large part of your annual CPD obligations but, more importantly, provide you with the essential information and support you need to design and specify mass timber systems with confidence.
​
This membership is for you if you are within 5 years of your Part 2 graduation.

SMEs
​

Are you an architecture and structural engineering SME? The Academy’s central tier is designed to provide career-long, structured continuing professional education for you and your employees, enabling better staff retention whilst up-skilling your team to respond effectively to the new opportunities offered by all-timber or hybrid timber construction systems.

Timber Intrapreneurs
​
The Mass Timber Academy’s unique ‘Timber Intrapreneur’ tier provides a structured learning programme for architects, structural engineers and technologists who have gained experience in the use of mass timber in construction and wish to take their knowledge to another level. Participants are trained to develop their skills as Thought Leaders within the wider timber manufacture, design and construction industries and to disseminate their knowledge to others in their business.

Timber Innovators​
​
​
The Mass Timber Academy’s Timber Innovator programme provides the necessary introduction to responsible innovation and the management methods needed to lead participants through the project conception, research, development, testing and commercialisation processes. The course builds on the foundation of knowledge acquired from earlier participation in the Academy’s Intrapreneur programme or from experience acquired in practice in the use of mass timber products and systems.

Timber Intrapreneurs

The year long programme embraces:
​
Eight "Intrapreneur Intensive" sessions designed to provide in-depth understanding of the manufacture, design, installation and performance of each solid laminate timber system. The sessions take place on a monthly basis and are delivered by leading architects, engineers, sector specialists and contractors.
Regular provision of up-to-date detailed information on critical issues (fire, moisture and sound) affecting their application.
Online consultations with mass timber manufacturers and associated specialist suppliers of, e.g connections and fixings, fire mitigation.
Guidance on dissemination techniques and support materials where appropriate.
